There is temptation at every turn: so willpower, strategies and alternatives need to be learned and implemented as often as you can to get results.
Here is our top tips for Saturday and Friday night eating:
If you are going out for dinner download the menu and decide what you are going to eat while you are FULL and SOBER.
If you really want a takeaway then HAVE ONE and do one of two things……
1. Choose healthier options off the menu.
2. Have what you want and maybe have it as a smaller portion. – If you do this and say for instance get a medium pizza instead of a large one………eat is slowly. Savour it. Enjoy it. Try not to talk while eating it. Make sure that if you are having an unhealthy evening you are mindful of this treat. Don’t be drunk and mindlessly wolf down junk food to sober yourself up.
For Healthier Options we mean the ones that will fill you up or have some nutritional content.
So think meat dishes at the Indian and Chinese and stay away from starchy carbs like bread and rice that will raise your blood sugars and have you ordering dessert.
SATURDAY NIGHT STAY IN COOKING IDEAS:
Paella (chicken, prawns, mussels, cod, peas, red pepper – easy to go protein crazy with this one)
Burger & Chips – Local Organic high quality burger with a whole grain bun, sweet potato wedges and peas. (Plenty of nutrients and filling protein, and double the burger and go no bun if you want to make sure there is no room for sweets – a second portion of protein is filling and better for you than sugar)
Cauliflower Crust Pizza
Thai Green Curry
Chicken Korma
